GODLY LOVE: UNDERSTANDING HOW GOD LOVES

Rom 12:3  For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.   When our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ went to the cross and paid our sin debt for us He displayed the ultimate example of sacrifice, selflessness, and Godly love. This Godly example we are given in our scriptures to show the saints the love of Christ; and not only are we given this unselfish act of Godly love to learn by, but we are also shown the love of the Father, and ‘how’ He loves His creation. In verse 1 of chapter 12 we are reminded of all the “mercies” that He has given us as “sons,” and here in verse 3 we are asked to change...

OUR SINS JUDGED AND FORGIVEN, OR JUDGED ONLY?

Rom 3:21  But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Rom 3:22  Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: Rom 3:23  For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Rom 3:24  Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: Rom 3:25  Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God; Rom 3:26  To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.   My understanding is...

“I WILL NOT BLOT OUT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE”

Rev 3:1  And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead. Rev 3:2  Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God. Rev 3:3  Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. Rev 3:4  Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. Rev 3:5  He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white...

GODLY LOVE: UNDERSTANDING WHAT GOD LOVES

Rom 12:1  I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.   One of the most remarkable features of our sonship education begins in Romans chapter 12, and it is at this point that we come to understand the love, trust, responsibility, wisdom, and design given unto us by our Father. And right at the outset we see these truths within the first two verses alone. The Apostle Paul through the Father ‘beseeches’ the saints by the “mercies of God;” in other words, by all the...

GOD’S WRATH POURED OUT UPON WOMEN AND CHILDREN?

Rom 1:18  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; Rom 1:19  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. Rom 1:20  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: Rom 1:21  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. Rom 1:22  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,   This is an issue that people frequently bring up, especially if they are...

GODLY LOVE: SONSHIP LIBERTY

Gal 5:13  For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Gal 5:14  For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Gal 5:15  But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Gal 5:16  This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. Gal 5:17  For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would. Gal 5:18  But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.   Oftentimes when we that are justified in Christ think about our liberty status we...

THE “MOTHER OF HARLOTS” AND ISLAM

Rev 17:1  And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: Rev 17:2  With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication. Rev 17:3  So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. Rev 17:4  And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: Rev 17:5  And...

“TILL THEY SEE THE SON OF MAN COMING IN HIS KINGDOM”

Mat 16:28  Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.     First off when the Lord refers to the ones who shall not taste of death “till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom,” it is my understanding that the Lord is not referring to His actual prophesied coming at the end of the final installment in Israel’s program when He physically returns to the earth and establishes the kingdom of heaven on it. Instead it is my understanding that the Lord is referring to a special foretaste type, (yet at the same time real and legitimate), ‘seeing’ of Him “coming in his kingdom,” which was going to be given to certain of His disciples for a very special reason. And it...

THE MECHANICS OF THE “CUP” OF THE LORD

Psa 23:5  Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Psa 23:6  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.   As we come to understand and appreciate the mechanics of the Lord’s Table, it is the “bread and cup” of the Lord that we have to have a full understanding appreciate so that we can fully understand and appreciate what the Apostle Paul was ‘delivering’ unto the saints regarding what happened the night the Lord was betrayed. So let us take a look at the different types of the “cup” of the Lord that are found in the bible. First, we will look at the many verses that show the cup of the wrath of the Lord,...

“BUT IF YE FORGIVE NOT MEN THEIR TRESPASSES”

Mat 6:14  For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: Mat 6:15  But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.   First off we need to acknowledge that Matthew 6:14–15 is part of what is commonly called ‘The Sermon on the Mount.’ And of course this means that it is part of the fundamental doctrines for the edification of the remnant of Israel, which the Lord was giving to His called out remnant during the opening part of the climactic stage of Israel’s program. By having believed “the gospel of the kingdom,” the members of the remnant received justification unto eternal life, and they thereby became members of ‘the called out seed of Jacob,’ the “Israel of God” to whom God...
